Celebrate our Ancestors, Dio de los Muertos

I have not celebrated Dia de los Muertos in at least 7 years. At some point I lost site of this traditional Mexican celebration of loved ones passed. I've had an intrinsic connection to this celebration for quite sometime. The love, celebration, color, art and community gathered to remember the departed spirits of our lives touches me deeply, authentically and gently.

The goddess Mictecacihuatl, known as the “Lady of the Dead,” watches over our ancestors. Death for this tradition a happy and colorful celebration where it takes a lively, friendly expression sorrow here would be interpreted as a discourteous to the dead relatives who are visiting gladly.

Traditionally celebrated, November 1 & 2, there will be several events around the bay area celebrating Dia De Los Muertos.
